4 Things You Didn't Know Would Help You Sell

# 1 Inspection issue of 2019 and how you, the home seller, can prevent it from derailing your sale!

When was the last time you checked your crawl space? Home inspections can be one of the more involved items on your to do list. One of my biggest issues in 2019 with home inspections was crawl space moisture.

Crawl spaces may not be a part of your home that you think of often, but this is a space that is equally as important as a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room, or a bathroom with his and hers sinks! The underside may not be the bright and shiny part of the home that attracts buyers, but issues with them can derail your sale and send you back to square one quickly!

Crawl space concerns – big or small – scare buyers far, far away.

These issues are not only time consuming and expensive, but they can expand quickly while also being potential health hazards. Crawl space moisture can be anything from mold to standing water. The word “mold” is enough to make a buyer run for the hills. Whether this mold is just a spot or the entire crawl space, this part of your home can ultimately change the outlook of your sale.

My first piece of advice is to check out your space!

Knowing the home you are trying to sell will not only give you a boost of confidence to show it off to buyers, but it will also help to avoid any unexpected crawl space surprises and expenses. Taking a look now may save you a headache later!

My second piece of advice to is assess water drainage.

Water can be a huge deterrent to a sale because of the amount of damage it can cause. From the gutters up above to the dirt down below, knowing your water concerns early can save you stress, time, and energy! Very few homes are perfect.

Be proactive with your repairs.

Lastly, I recommend that you fix minor issues. You may even be able to do this yourself. If that is not a realistic option, then hire a pro. At the end of the day, handling these minor concerns or contacting a pro to fix a major issue will benefit your sale and your buyer’s experience.

I go into more detail on how to avoid the crawl space woes in the video above!

The key is to be proactive!

Being efficient in solving your crawl space issue is the key to avoiding spending more money, causing unnecessary stress, and even potentially losing a sale. The goal of this video is to help you not fall into the crawl space disaster trap and to help you get one step closer to being a confident and prepared seller!
